Hudson Street Wineries is a cooperative tasting room featuring the wines of four small Sonoma County family wineries. It is located “where the river meets the tracks” at Old Roma Station in Healdsburg in the original cellar of the French-American Winery, one of the first wineries built in Healdsburg. Visitors will discover a wide range of exceptional award-winning, limited production, and single vineyard varietal wines to taste in the historic ambiance of our welcoming and friendly tasting room.
Burnside Road winds through the picturesque Russian River Valley wine-growing region here in Sonoma County. It boasts some of northern California’s most prized grapevines and many celebrated winegrowers dotted with orchards, family farms, and secluded dwellings.
We began Owl Ridge Wines to take advantage of the high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grown in Sonoma County. Winemaker Joe Otos uses 100% French oak and winemaking techniques that preserve the intensity of the fruit flavors. The resulting wines are big but balanced.
Hudson Street Wineries hosts Shippey Vineyards: As grape farmers living in Sonoma County, we think of our wines as FOOD – food from our vineyard to your table. We spend much more time in our vineyards growing the best grapes possible than in the winery making the wine. We firmly believe that “the grapes make the wine.” We like to say you can make bad wine out of good grapes, but you cannot make great wine out of bad grapes. With our single vineyard varietals, the Rocking Zinfandel and Flaming J Petite Sirah, we can use no winemaking or blending “tricks” to make the wine taste different from the grapes give us. Each vintage has its own unique character and is never the same as a prior vintage.
Back in 1995, after falling in love with northern California’s beautiful wine country, Joe Otos decided to follow his heart and switch careers to learn the winemaking trade alongside the renowned Chris Loxton of Wellington Cellars. Soon proving his talent, Joe was becoming a sought-after up-and-coming winemaker, making his own small-lot wines from local grapes. In 2001 he formed Willowbrook Cellars alongside retired technology entrepreneur John Tracy and retired sales executive Ed Sillari, who had recently moved to Sonoma County to pursue their passion for wine.
