Prohibition Spirits
Profile
Prohibition Spirits was born out of a vacation to Sonoma in 2008. It reminded us of one of our other favorite spots, Italy. At the time, we were living in Boulder, juggling hectic careers and three kids. I was in environmental consulting, and Amy ran her own event planning business, both of which required crazy hours and lots of travel away from our family. Starting a business together was always in our minds, and we felt very inspired while exploring Sonoma.
We’ve always loved Limoncello and thought it would be cool to bring our favorite “sunshine in a bottle” to Wine Country. Even after returning home, we couldn’t shake the idea of producing a California version of Limoncello, so we decided to follow our dream and move the family to Sonoma. Everyone thought we were nuts. It’s been a long haul, but we have managed to create an (award-winning) Limoncello, appropriately named Limoncello di Sonoma. The whole community is involved, and our peeling parties have turned into a huge gathering of adults and kids helping us peel 3,500 lemons in one afternoon. Since the launch of our Limoncello, our company has grown to include over 30 different products, including a unique Figcello di Sonoma! Right now, we’re just trying to keep up with the demand and spread the word. It’s the California dream everyone talks about, and we’re living it, right here and right now!
Visit the Prohibition Spirits store to pick up Limoncello di Sonoma, Orangecello di Sonoma, Figcello di Sonoma, BelloCello di Sonoma, Hooker’s House Bourbon, Rye, Sour Mash Whiskey, Sugar Daddy Rum (Light, Amber, Dark), Jack London’s Gin, Brandy, and grape-based moonshine.

Come and get it, fig lovers! The latest in buzzworthy di Sonoma libations has arrived: FigCello. It’s a bold pre-dessert liqueur made from black Mission figs blended with hints of citrus and warm California botanicals. Distilled with Wine Country grapes? Yes, please, for this uniquely clean—and wildly flavorful—beverage. So say yes to your next nightcap or after dinner digestive—whether poured on the rocks or served up with some cheese and wine: one sip of FigCello may leave you starry-eyed (in more ways than one). Tastes as good as it sounds; we promise you’ll tweet about it.
